Jerry treasured his duets with longtime friend and colleague John Kahn, but just as meaningful was the fact that he could do so at the club named for his old friend Bill, whose lifelong friendship was forged at the Trips Festival in 1966, when he saw a side of the brusk promoter that touched him deeply. These two matchbooks document the kind of deeply personal moments that Graham's vision sought to foster, giving Garcia's music the stage it needed to touch the shared humanity that inspired so many listeners. Ephemera from Wolfgang's is incredibly rare.
