For The Magical Girls!: A Sailor Moon Print and Glitter Kitty Sticker by Karítas Gunnarsdóttir (@karitasart) of Feyrún Tattoo

<div><span>“Moli the Dachshund’s Mug” – a textured ceramic mug featuring playful dachshund silhouettes. It holds approximately 330 ml and stands 10 cm tall, with a total width (including handle) of 13 cm.&nbsp;</span><span>Comes with a matching plate – featuring the same dachshund pattern, this piece complements the mug perfectly. The mug is named after her Dachshund Moli, whom she adopted through Dýrahjálp.</span></div><div><br></div><div>Both items are made by Icelandic ceramicist Didda Svavars (<a target="_BLANK" href="https://www.instagram.com/didda.svavars.ceramics/">@didda.svavars.ceramics</a>) and are part of a unique, animal-loving series. Didda Svavars is a 66 year old animal loving pottery enthusiast. She discovered the world of pottery making at the tender age of 62 and hasn't stopped since. She is inspired by the wild and majestic nature of Iceland and of course animals.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>----</div><div><br></div><div>„Moli the Dachshund’s Mug“ – bolli með áferðar prenti af greifingjahundum. Didda Svavars er 66 ára dýravinur og leirunnandi. Hún uppgötvaði leirlistina 62 ára gömul og hefur ekki litið til baka síðan. Hún sækir innblástur sinn í villta og stórbrotna náttúru Íslands – og auðvitað dýrin.</div>

<div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.00938em;">A set of 2 foamcore-supported figures made of collaged photographs. These figures feature elements from photos of multiple people. (You may notice the faces of the former Icelandic Prime Minister, <a href="https://www.althingi.is/altext/cv/is/?nfaerslunr=690" target="_blank">Katrín Jakobsdóttir</a>, and R&amp;B Singer Frankee, known for her 2004 hit “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1K0pUSSFUo" target="_blank">F. U. R. B.</a>”) These figures can stand separately, or together, forming a circular base when back to back. The bases are wooden and feature a date and artist signature.</span></div><div><br></div><div><b>About the artist:</b></div><div>Valgerður Guðlaugsdóttir (Born in Reykjavík, February 22, 1970 – Died April 27, 2021) graduated from the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts in 1990. She pursued further studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki from 1996–1997 and at the Iceland University of the Arts from 2002–2004. Valgerður gained early recognition for her works exploring representations of women through a powerful and ambiguous visual language. The boldness that characterises much of her work, combined with a touch of humour, creates a compelling and memorable body of work. Several of her pieces are part of the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1697514967115579&amp;id=100063675845301" target="_blank">National Gallery of Iceland’s collection</a>, which honoured her memory by exhibiting her works from its holdings.</div><div>----</div><div>Sett af tveimur myndum studdum með skýrmótum úr möttum pappi, sem eru úr samsettum myndum. Valgerður fékk snemma viðurkenningu fyrir verk sín sem kanna framsetningu kvenna í gegnum öflugan og tvíræðan sjónrænan tungumál. Krafturinn sem einkennir mörg af verkum hennar, ásamt smáum snertingum af húmor, skapar heillandi og eftirminnilegt verk. Nokkur verk hennar eru hluti af safni Þjóðlistasafns Íslands, sem heiðraði minningu hennar með því að sýna verk hennar úr safninu.</div>

This bag features a black and white spiderweb pattern on one side, and a pink, grey and white pattern on the other side featuring different stylised figures. The bag has a button closure and comes with a rare artefact- a vintage Krónu plastic bag.</span></p><div><br></div><div><b>About the Artist:&nbsp;</b></div><div>Hildur Sigurðardóttir co-owns and runs Kaktus Espresso Bar on Vitastígur and the National Gallery of Iceland.&nbsp;<span>Her bags were once sold at Fígúra, a now-defunct store and piece of Icelandic history, and are now considered vintage goods!</span></div><div><span>----</span></div><div><span>Þetta er taska sem er hægt að snúa við, er með aftanverðri vasa og stillanlega axlaról. Taskan hefur svart-hvítt mynstur með köngulóarvef á annarri hlið, og bleikt, grátt og hvítt mynstur á hinni hliðinni með mismunandi myndum. Reversible Custom Messenger Bag by Hildur Sigurðardóttir

<div><span>This is a set of two green ceramic food and water bowls for pets. They are hand-sculpted by artists from Múlabær, and feature a light green drip design around the upper edge of both bowls. They are the larger size available, and they are&nbsp;</span><span>double-fired with food-safe glaze. The food bowl is a "slow-feeder", which prevents the pet from eating too quickly—something that can cause digestive problems and other issues.</span></div><div><br></div><div><b>About the Artists and the Project:</b></div>Ríkey Magnúsdóttir Ringsted is a second-year product design student at the Iceland University of the Arts. In the spring of 2023, she worked on a project focused on assistive tools for handicrafts for individuals living with visual impairment. Ríkey emphasised clay modelling and ceramics, as clay is a material that relies on touch and the feeling from the hands.<div><br></div><div>Ríkey began working with a diverse group of volunteers who all shared the experience of being significantly visually impaired. They were the first to try something new and to have the opportunity to create despite their visual impairment. This group came from Múlabær, a day centre for the elderly and people living with disabilities.</div><div><br></div><div>The idea for this project initially came from a conversation Ríkey had with her grandmother, Ella Ring (Anna Elín Ringsted). Ella is 99 years old and has very limited vision. She spoke about how much she missed doing handicrafts and how wonderful it would be to still be able to create despite her vision loss. Hún vann að verkefni vorið 2023 sem einblíndi á hjálpartæki í handavinnu fyrir blinda/sjónskerta einstaklinga. Ríkey lagði áherslu á leirmótun og keramik þar sem leirinn er efniviður sem treystir á snertingu og tilfinningu frá höndunum.</div><div><br></div><div>Ríkey fór að vinna með fjölbreyttum sjálfboðaliðum sem áttu það sameiginlegt að vera verulega sjónskert. Þau voru fyrst í að prófa eitthvað nýtt og að fá að skapa þrátt fyrir sjónskerðingu. Þessi hópur var úr Múlabæ sem er dagþjálfun aldraðra og öryrkja.</div><div><br></div><div>Hugmyndin af þessu verkefni kom upphaflega út frá spjalli sem Ríkey átti við ömmu sína, hana Ellu Ring (Anna Elín Ringsted). Sjálf er hún 99 ára og með mjög takmarkaða sjón. Ella fór að tala um söknuðinn sem hún hefur gagnvart handavinnu og hvað það væri gaman að geta ennþá skapað þrátt fyrir sjónskerðinguna. Verkefnið fékk nafnið Ellu skálar til heiðurs ömmu Ellu.</div><div><br></div><div>Í sameiningu hannaði Ríkey með þessum hóp í Múlabæ vatns- og matarskálar fyrir gæludýr. Skálarnar koma í tveimur stærðum og eru tvíbrenndar með food safe glerungi. Matarskálin er slowfeeder skál sem kemur í veg fyrir að dýrið borði of hratt sem getur valdið meltingartruflunum og öðrum kvillum.</div><div><br></div>
