She completed an MFA in applied arts from HDK Gothenburg University in 1990 and MFA in studio arts from Mills College California in 1996. Bergmann &amp; Hallin have collaborated as Berghall on several projects and exhibitions since 2005. They have exhibited extensively in Iceland and abroad. — for example at The National Gallery of Iceland, Kling and Bang Gallery Reykjavik, The Nordic Biennial in Moss Norway, ProArtibus in Finland, Bozar in Bruxelles, Einar Jónsson Museum - Reykjavík and at Hjalteyri Contemporary Art Space - The Factory in Iceland. Berghall hefur einnig unnið verkefni fyrir almenningsrými, tímabundnar innsetningar bæði innandyra og utandyra, sem og varanleg útilistaverk – til dæmis í Hólmsheiði háöryggisfangelsinu í Reykjavík og fyrir Kirkjugarða Reykjavíkur.</div>

<div><span>“Moli the Dachshund’s Mug” – a textured ceramic mug featuring playful dachshund silhouettes. It holds approximately 330 ml and stands 10 cm tall, with a total width (including handle) of 13 cm.&nbsp;</span><span>Comes with a matching plate – featuring the same dachshund pattern, this piece complements the mug perfectly. The mug is named after her Dachshund Moli, whom she adopted through Dýrahjálp.</span></div><div><br></div><div>Both items are made by Icelandic ceramicist Didda Svavars (<a target="_BLANK" href="https://www.instagram.com/didda.svavars.ceramics/">@didda.svavars.ceramics</a>) and are part of a unique, animal-loving series. Didda Svavars is a 66 year old animal loving pottery enthusiast. She discovered the world of pottery making at the tender age of 62 and hasn't stopped since. (You may notice the faces of the former Icelandic Prime Minister, <a href="https://www.althingi.is/altext/cv/is/?nfaerslunr=690" target="_blank">Katrín Jakobsdóttir</a>, and R&amp;B Singer Frankee, known for her 2004 hit “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1K0pUSSFUo" target="_blank">F. U. R. B.</a>”) These figures can stand separately, or together, forming a circular base when back to back. The bases are wooden and feature a date and artist signature.</span></div><div><br></div><div><b>About the artist:</b></div><div>Valgerður Guðlaugsdóttir (Born in Reykjavík, February 22, 1970 – Died April 27, 2021) graduated from the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts in 1990. She pursued further studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki from 1996–1997 and at the Iceland University of the Arts from 2002–2004. Valgerður gained early recognition for her works exploring representations of women through a powerful and ambiguous visual language. The boldness that characterises much of her work, combined with a touch of humour, creates a compelling and memorable body of work. Several of her pieces are part of the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1697514967115579&amp;id=100063675845301" target="_blank">National Gallery of Iceland’s collection</a>, which honoured her memory by exhibiting her works from its holdings.</div><div>----</div><div>Sett af tveimur myndum studdum með skýrmótum úr möttum pappi, sem eru úr samsettum myndum. Krafturinn sem einkennir mörg af verkum hennar, ásamt smáum snertingum af húmor, skapar heillandi og eftirminnilegt verk. Nokkur verk hennar eru hluti af safni Þjóðlistasafns Íslands, sem heiðraði minningu hennar með því að sýna verk hennar úr safninu.</div>
