Closed triangular tear (1 in. sides) at center; original folds, as issued.A fold-out pamphlet profiling Lou Reed, featuring a full-sized poster with a photograph with his then-partner-cum-muse Rachel Humphreys, a trans woman who inspired his lyrics, songs, and art. Humphreys first worked with Reed as his hairdresser and tour manager during the 1970s, and seven years later they held an informal marriage ceremony. They ultimately separated due to Reed’s disapproval of Humphrey’s interest in sex-reassignment surgery. Friends and biographers of Reed consider his 1978 magnum opus “Street Hassle” to be a document of the heartbreak and violence of their relationship. Photo documentation of Reed and Humphreys is very rare, posters featuring the two of them even more so. Tiny nicks and closed tears to outer margins, chip to lower margin, none affecting print.A spectacular technicolor poster appearing to feature the Beatles in the nude. In fact, Richard Bernstein superimposed the Fab Four’s heads on nude male bodies. Apple Records sued the artist, and a French judge ordered the posters’ confiscation. Very few copies are found, as the bulk of them were removed from circulation during the lawsuit.&nbsp;A fixture at Studio 54, Richard Bernstein designed over 100 covers and illustrations for Andy Warhol's Interview magazine for over seventeen years.A nice, bright copy of a rare and desirable poster. The Cotton Club Revue was the house show of the Cotton Club, the famous Harlem venue that launched the career of prominent Black jazz musicians such as Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, and Billie Holiday. Infamously, however, the Club operated during the Jim Crow era: it was at first a whites-only nightclub that featured mostly Black performers, drawing public critique from Black writers and intellectuals, such as Langston Hughes.
