Very good; heavily creased from folding, some minor tears at fold lines, and toning and bumping at edges.Original hand-drawn poster mock-up and stenciled poster by Living Theatre co-founder Julian Beck for Six Public Acts to Transmute Violence into Concord, part of the Living Theatre’s Legacy of Cain cycle of plays.This mock-up and poster were both produced on roadmaps of Pittsburgh, a reference to the fact that the performances were staged not in a traditional theatrical venue, but in public spaces across the Steel City. Throughout the 1970s, the Living Theatre performed The Legacy of Cain in several nontraditional venues around the world, from a Pittsburgh steel mill to a Brazilian prison and the streets of Palermo, Italy. These plays were designed not only for a variety of venues, but a variety of audiences, especially those who would otherwise have limited access to theater.The printed version of the poster differs slightly from the pencil mock-up.
